Hello!
My name is Caron Krauch. I am a local real estate photographer and my son and I also do a great deal of photography & video work for the Pismo Beach Visitor's Bureau/Gordon & Micki and John at TJA Advertising. We are both Part 107 fully insured & licensed drone pilots. We know about the no drone "ordinance" in Pismo Beach and have been requesting permits to fly our drones for the events in Pismo Beach that involve the City of Pismo Beach for the past 6 months. We were told that they are trying to acquire annual drone permits for us, and others, who are licensed and insured, so we don't have to jump through all the current hoops to fly our drones! When I/we have an event in Pismo Beach, like this weekend's Earth Day sand art creation at the Pismo pier, we have to email City Manager Jorge Garcia for his approval and honestly, I hate to bother him with such trivial things, but if I don't, we chance being issued a citation. We keep a printed copy of his approval with us, in case a "certain" officer questions us. I would like to be at the City Council meeting tomorrow but I have a photoshoot in Cambria and won't be back in time. I would really appreciate your speaking on our behalf, as licensed drone pilots! We are just trying to do our job and we're not out there flying recklessly or carelessly. We take it very seriously and always fly responsibly and with public safety a top priority!
