RE: Support for the Central Coast Blue Regional Recycled Water Project Dear Mayor Waage, Council Members, and Authority Board Members, On behalf of the South County Chambers of Commerce, which represents over 500 businesses and thousands of employees across our region, I am writing to express our strong support for the Central Coast Blue Regional Recycled Water Project.

This innovative project aligns with our Chamber’s Public Policy Principles by addressing long-term water reliability through an environmentally responsible and economically sound solution. Central Coast Blue will provide a drought-resilient, sustainable source of water that not only supports the future needs of our growing community and local industries but also protects our natural groundwater resources.

By investing in advanced water recycling technology, the City of Pismo Beach is demonstrating thoughtful leadership and environmental stewardship without compromising economic vitality. This approach directly aligns with our adopted policy guidelines, which advocate for environmental quality based on sound science, community partnerships, and cost-effective implementation strategies that do not place undue burden on businesses or residents.

The Chamber also commends the City’s effort to include the business community in the development of a community engagement plan, ensuring transparency and public understanding of the project’s benefits.

We urge the Pismo Beach City Council and the Central Coast Blue Regional Recycled Water Authority Board to adopt the Fiscal Year 2026 budget and advance this critical project to its next phase. Continued progress on Central Coast Blue is essential for securing our region’s long-term water security and economic health.

Thank you for your continued commitment to policies and projects that strengthen our community and support our shared future.

Sincerely,
Jeff Chambers, CEO
