Dear Mayor and Councilmembers,
I am writing in strong support of the proposed project that was recently approved by a 4-0 vote. This thoughtful plan represents exactly the kind of forward-looking development our community needs.
By adding 34 new homes, including 5 deed-restricted affordable units, the project helps address our ongoing housing challenges while prioritizing residents over vacation rentals. It also enhances our downtown with onsite parking that meets requirements, ground-floor businesses, a public plaza, outdoor seating, and space for local small businesses—all of which create a vibrant, welcoming entry to Pismo Beach.
I appreciate how the design reflects community feedback through warmer colors, public art, and varied building heights. Most importantly, this project transforms a long-neglected lot into a destination that supports both local families and local commerce.
This is smart growth that balances housing, business, and community character. I encourage you to uphold your approval of this project and move it forward for the benefit of our residents and the future of downtown Pismo Beach.
