Dear Pismo Beach City Councilmembers,
I am writing to express my strong support for the Gateway Project as it comes before you for consideration.

Pismo Beach and the Central Coast have always been special to me. I grew up spending time at my grandparents’ home in Pismo Beach before moving to Utah for 25 years. Eight years ago, I returned to Central California and have been proud to call this area home ever since. I love the atmosphere, the people, the beach, and the energy that makes this community so unique.

In my professional work, I collaborate closely with local businesses and community members, and I care deeply about the future of this region. The Gateway Project represents thoughtful, forward-looking development.

This project is exactly the type of thoughtful development that Pismo Beach needs. It will:
∙ Add 34 new homes, including 5 deed-restricted affordable units that give local families more opportunities to stay in the community.
∙ Provide onsite parking that meets all requirements, ensuring it integrates smoothly with the neighborhood.
∙ Transform a long-neglected lot into a welcoming gateway to downtown, featuring ground-floor businesses, a public plaza, and outdoor seating.
∙ Prioritize housing for locals, not vacation rentals, addressing one of our community’s most pressing challenges.
∙ Reflect community feedback with warmer colors, public art, and varied building heights. ∙ Create space for small businesses, supporting economic vitality and walkability.

It’s clear that this project was shaped with community input in mind and guided by a developer who understands and respects the area. I believe it will serve as a strong example of how Pismo Beach can grow in a way that honors its past while building for the future.

For me, this project represents more than new construction - it’s about honoring Pismo Beach’s unique character while planning responsibly for its future. By blending housing, local business opportunities, and community gathering spaces, the Gateway Project shows how growth can benefit everyone.

Thank you for your leadership and for considering a project that strengthens our community for years to come.

Sincerely,
Abbie Guerrero
