Dear City Council Members,
I support the Gateway Pismo project because it
Creates a welcoming and vibrant entry plaza at a key gateway into downtown Pismo Beach Transforms a long-neglected, underutilized site into a valuable community asset Introduces small-scale neighborhood-serving commercial space Includes attractive, well-integrated signage that enhances downtown identity Provides much-needed single-level, accessible housing for seniors and residents with mobility needs Features thoughtful building design with varied heights and well-scaled elevations Preserves important view corridors, including along Bay Street All residential and commercial parking is provided
Developer listened to community input and made meaningful design changes Waivers have been reduced
Enhances the Dolliver corridor with quality design and landscape features Includes beautiful landscaping and public space elements Architecture is scaled and consistent with the downtown plan, using materials and forms that reflect local character Highlights Classic California architectural details appropriate for Pismo Beach Overall project fits the scale and feel of the community Adds 5 deed-restricted affordable units that are greatly needed Adds new homes for the local workforce—not too dense, but a meaningful contribution Brings energy and vitality to downtown with new residents and complementary uses Building height and massing are in line with nearby developments like Seaside on Wadsworth
I VOTE A BIGGEST YES
I ALWAYS THOUGHT THAT WAS THE UGLIEST THING TO LOOK AT THAT OLD GAS STATION
COMING OFF THE FREEWAY AND THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE COME OFF THE FREEWAY AND SEE THAT UGLINESS. I THINK IT’S GONNA BE 100% UPGRADE FOR THE CITY OF PISMO BEACH AND PS.
MY DAUGHTER IS INTERESTED IN BUYING ONE.
Thank you, Pismo Beach for a big upgrade
