Dear City Council Members,
I am writing in strong support of the Gateway Pismo project because it represents exactly the kind of thoughtful, balanced revitalization our community needs.

This project:

Creates a welcoming and vibrant entry plaza at a key downtown gateway.

Transforms a long-neglected site into a valuable community asset.

Introduces small-scale, neighborhood-serving commercial space to benefit locals.

Provides much-needed housing, including 34 new homes with 5 deed-restricted affordable units.

Ensures all parking requirements are met onsite.

Features design updates that reflect community feedback—warmer colors, varied heights, and public art.

Preserves important view corridors and complements the scale and feel of downtown Pismo Beach.

Adds vitality and economic energy by welcoming new residents and supporting small businesses.

The developer has demonstrated a genuine commitment to working with the community, making meaningful design changes that enhance compatibility with our unique downtown character. The result is a project that will bring lasting value to both residents and visitors.

I urge you to approve the Gateway Pismo project and allow this long-vacant lot to become a welcoming and vibrant entry point to downtown Pismo Beach.

Sincerely,
Susannah Brown
