TITLE:
Price Street Paid Parking Hours
RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt a Resolution establishing paid parking hours for Price Street.
DISCUSSION:
On June 15, 2021, the City Council adopted Resolution R-2021-057, directing that paid parking be implemented on Price Street between Pomeroy and San Luis Avenues, including the stub streets of Pomeroy Avenue, Main Street, Pismo Avenue, and Hollister Avenue between Price Street and US 101.
On January 24, 2025, as part of its annual goal-setting meeting, the City Council directed staff to set paid parking hours for Price Street at 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Friday through Sunday, and return to the Council with more information about the results.
On October 21, 2025, staff presented its recommendations for the Price Street paid parking area to the City Council. Staff recommended that the days and hours of paid parking enforcement along this section of Price Street be formalized with a policy resolution, which is now returned to the Council for adoption. The resolution (Attachment 1) will restate the location of paid parking spaces on Price Street, and set the enforcement hours as follows:
Fridays, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Saturdays, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Sundays, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Conclusion and Recommendation
Staff recommends that the City Council adopt a resolution (Attachment 1) establishing paid parking enforcement hours for Price Street.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no immediate fiscal impact from staff’s recommended action. Any fiscal impacts associated with the hours of paid parking enforcement on Price Street will be presented in an upcoming quarterly paid parking report to the City Council.

RESOLUTION NO. R-2025-XXX
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PISMO BEACH,
CALIFORNIA ESTABLISHING PAID PARKING HOURS FOR PRICE STREET WHEREAS, on June 15, 2021, the City Council adopted Resolution R-2021-057, directing that paid parking be implemented on Price Street between Pomeroy and San Luis Avenues, including the stub streets of Pomeroy Avenue, Main Street, Pismo Avenue, and Hollister Avenue between Price Street and US 101; and
WHEREAS, on January 24, 2025, the City Council directed staff to set paid parking hours for Price Street at 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Friday through Sunday, and return to the Council with more information about the results; and
WHEREAS, staff now wishes to formalize the hours of paid parking enforcement with a policy resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Pismo Beach that paid parking shall be enforced on Price Street as follows:
1. Location
Price Street between Pomeroy and San Luis Avenues, including the stub streets of Pomeroy Avenue, Main Street, Pismo Avenue, and Hollister Avenue that lie between Price Street and US 101.
2. Hours
•Fridays, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
•Saturdays, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
•Sundays, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
