Dear counsel members and Mr. Garcia,
The Chapman Estate is a cultural / historic treasure that should be preserved. It's a lot to maintain for a city, but the active Chapman Estate Foundation is able to take the legal and maintenance burden. Preserving the property for the community is good for the city, attracting tourists who aren't as into the beach. Neighboring cities also have bea hes, si this is unique. But its also the cities legal requirement in accordance with the terms of the agreement conditions under which the city contractually agreed when they accepted the property, which was to preserve the property for public access and recreational uses. If the city does not keep it, please ensure that it is transferred to the Chapman Estate Foundation. No one wants a court battle. The community, City and any propsed developer all suffer in prolonged court battles that only enrich attorneys.
Sincerely,
Gabrielle
