Pismo Beach City Council and Planning Department:

As a property owner on Franklin Dr., Pismo Beach, I was extremely concerned upon recently hearing of a possible proposed walkway that would connect to or go through Franklin Drive, as part of the approval of the GP/LCP Land Use Plan.

The negative impacts to our property and others on this very narrow street are significant, which would include increased traffic, parking, and congestion, and potential related safety issues, including emergency vehicle access, and environmental concerns if the road is widened into the ravine. Property values on the street would certainly decrease, due to the issues noted above, as well as altered views. If part of the GP/LCP Land Use Element community vision is to "support the visitor population while enhancing the quality of life for all residents", it certainly does not achieve this, but rather just the opposite.

I am vehemently opposed to a walkway that connects to or goes through Franklin Drive, and I strongly urge the City Council to reconsider such a proposal.

Sincerely,
Rod Burris
