TITLE:
Cancellation of July 7, 2026 Regular Meeting
RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt a Resolution cancelling the July 7, 2026 Regular Meeting.
DISCUSSION:
Pismo Beach Municipal Code Section 2.04.080 provides that the City Council shall hold meetings as established by Council resolution. City Council Resolution R-2009-014 establishes that the Council shall hold its regular meetings on the first and third Tuesday of every month. The Council may enact further resolutions amending its meeting schedule.
On June 2, 2026, the City Council directed that staff return with a resolution cancelling the July 7, 2026 Regular Meeting, due to lack of urgent business to be considered. The resolution provided as Attachment 1 will effect this cancellation. This cancellation is in addition to the Regular Meetings of July 21, 2026, and November 3, 2026, which were cancelled by Resolution R-2025-077.
Conclusion and Recommendation
Staff recommends that the Council adopt a resolution (Attachment 1) cancelling the July 7, 2026 Regular Meeting.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is a cost savings associated with cancellation of meetings, but there is no budget impact associated with staff’s recommendation.

RESOLUTION NO. R-2026-XXX
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PISMO BEACH, CALIFORNIA CANCELLING THE JULY 7, 2026 REGULAR MEETING
WHEREAS, Pismo Beach Municipal Code 2.04.080 provides that the City Council shall hold meetings as established by resolution; and
WHEREAS, City Council Resolution R-2009-014 establishes that the City Council shall hold its regular meetings on the first and third Tuesday of every calendar month, and the Council may adopt further policy resolutions amending its regular meeting schedule; and WHEREAS, the Council has directed the cancellation of the July 7, 2026 Regular Meeting due to lack of urgent business to be considered; and
WHEREAS, the Council may still act to cancel additional regular meetings, or schedule additional special meetings, at a future juncture if it deems it necessary or desirable.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Pismo Beach hereby cancels its regular meeting of July 7, 2026.
