Mayor Banales called the meeting to order at 7:02 P.M. in the City Council Chamber at City Hall, 65 Civic Avenue, Pittsburg, CA.

The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
CITY MANAGER REPORTS/REMARKS
City Manager Evans invited members of the community to the Holiday Parade, taking place on Saturday, December 14, 2024.

CITY COUNCIL CONSENT CALENDAR
Adoption of a City Council Resolution Declaring Results of the General Municipal Election Held on November 5, 2024
On Motion by Member Scales-Preston, seconded by Member Adams to adopt and carried unanimously.

REMARKS AND RECOGNITION OF OUTGOING MAYOR/CHAIR AND COUNCIL MEMBER
2. Remarks from Outgoing Mayor/Chair
Presentations/Comments for Outgoing Mayor
Merl Craft, Pittsburg, congratulated outgoing Mayor Banales for a productive year. She also welcomed incoming Mayor Killings.

6. Selection of Mayor/Chair
On motion by Mayor Banales, seconded by Member Scales-Preston to appoint Jelani Killings as Mayor/Chair and carried unanimously
7. Selection of Vice-Mayor/Chair
On motion by Member Scales-Preston, seconded by Member Banales to appoint Dionne Adams as Vice-Mayor/Vice-Chair and carried unanimously.
8. Remarks from New Vice-Mayor/Chair
Vice Mayor Adams noted she was grateful for the opportunity to serve as Vice Mayor and was excited for the year ahead and all the great things in store for Pittsburg.
9. Remarks from New Mayor/Chair
Mayor Killings recapped on all the accomplishments from Council and staff throughout his tenure on the City Council. He also stated he looked forward to a productive year.
Contra Costa County Supervisor (District 5), Federal Glover, commended Council for a productive year and presented outgoing Mayor Banales and incoming Mayor Killings with Certificates of Recognition.
Merl Craft, Pittsburg congratulated Mayor Killings and welcomed Vice Mayor Adams.
Denise Killings, Pittsburg, commended the Police Department for all their hard work, she also commended the City Council for all the accomplishments they have achieved.
Kevin Coleman welcomed Mayor Killings and acknowledged all the great work that the City Council has done.

Council Member Lopez read a letter addressed to the City Council, Pittsburg community and City staff.
Council Member Banales gave kudos to Mayor Killings, Vice Mayor Adams and congratulated Member Scales-Preston for her new role as County Supervisor.
Council Member Scales-Preston acknowledged the comradery between all Council Members, noted she was proud of the great work happening in Pittsburg.
Vice Mayor Adams noted she was grateful to work with a group of people who feel connected and want to serve the community.
ADJOURNMENT
The City Council adjourned at 7:58 P.M. to December 16, 2024.
