We appreciate the City of Placentia considering an application to the Orange County Local Agency Formation Commission (OC LAFCO) for the annexation of the Hamer Island.
The staff at the County of Orange have been charged with working with cities on annexation of the remaining County islands where it makes sense. The County is focused on the provision of regional public services, and cities are better positioned to provide efficient and effective municipal services. As a result, over the years, the County has successfully worked with a number of cities and OC LAFCO on the annexation of County islands.
I plan to attend the City Council meeting on February 15, 2022, and will be available to answer any questions that you may have for the County as it relates to the City's proposed annexation of Hamer Island.
