Background
0 Maddy List is a state law requirement for cities to publish an annual "Local Appointment List" by December 31 each year List of all ongoing commissions, committees, and boards authorized and appointed by the City Council, term of office, and any required qualifications for appointment and service
List of all appointed members whose term will expire during the coming calendar year
Date of original appointment, date of expiring term, date of any intermediate appointment(s)

Placentia's Local Appointment List Issues
• Lists posted during pandemic were not in strict compliance with State Law
Members were listed and continued to serve after term had expired, but had not been formally reappointed
Non-compliance was not a major issue due to relaxation of requirements during the pandemic
• Purpose of this agenda item is to solicit City Council direction regarding approach to achieving compliance
