Background
• In August 2019, the City Council approved the submission of park project applications for grant funding for various park improvements through the Statewide Park and Community Revitalization Program (Prop 68)
• The City was notified in February 2020, that the renovation project for La Placita Parkette was chosen to receive an award of $640,000 The renovation project will include, removal and replacement of the existing playground and rubberized surfacing, addition of water efficient irrigation, landscaping, addition of decorative fencing, new park amenities, and new park lighting
The City Council awarded a Professional Services Agreement to RHA Landscape Architects Planners, INC. (RHA) for design services for the La Placita Parkette renovation project
The proposed design will align with the City's comprehensive Parks Initiative Plan aimed at improving aging park and facility infrastructure
