DISCUSSION:

Recommended for approval are requests for the following classification actions:

1. Reclassification of one (1) Office Assistant to one (1) Administrative Assistant in the Community Services Department

2. Reclassification of one (1) Office Assistant to one (1) Management Assistant in the Public Works Department
Both reclassifications reflect higher-level duties currently being conducted and better align with the needs of the department. Benefits of the reclassification ensure Staff are working within their appropriate classifications while retaining valuable qualified Staff resulting in effective succession planning.

Staff does not anticipate the need for additional funding in this fiscal year. Adequate funding is available in subsequent fiscal years to cover the costs of the aforementioned positions.

FISCAL IMPACT:

The cost associated with the approval of this item is estimated to be $15,116 for a full fiscal year.

Due to timing of the reclassifications as well as vacancy savings anticipated within the FY 2022-23 budget, there will be no additional appropriations necessary to the FY 2022-23 budget to fulfill this proposed action.
