SUMMARY:

This Agenda Report requests the City Council's approval to purchase Homicide Room Ancillary Evidence Storage Systems for the new Property and Evidence Facility. The City Council already approved the purchase of evidence storage rolling bins and evidence drying lockers using a combination of Proposition 69 funds and meeting the match requirement of Proposition 69 funds with General Fund monies, with the firm of McMurray Stern on February 21, 2023. On January 10, 2023, the City Council awarded a construction contract for the Phase I Construction of the Placentia Public Safety Center Project (Project No. 5213). The new facility will primarily house the Police Department's evidence and property storage operations, a state-of- the-art shooting range, a new 911 emergency communications center, emergency operations center and training center.
