APPEAL FOR RESIDENTIAL COMFORT
I am the resident of 725 Blankenship Cir, Placentia, CA 92870 since 2020 and I came to know that there are houses coming up at the back (West side) and the side (South side) of my property according to the Placentia City development project (Alta Vista and Jefferson). I would like to submit few suggestions and also few requests to you the development dept which will be beneficial to my family, my current neighbors and also for the upcoming community.
The Gas Plant leak: we have noticed and experienced multiple times that the gas plant situated at the south of my house and at the corner of the park which is between Alta vista at Jefferson, has gas leak and smells gas at our house and the neighborhood houses on and off. It has been reported to gas company multiple times by the residents and it still continued. If the new houses are built very close to the plant which is the border of the park at south of my house shall be non -habitable to the new community.
Suggestion: It will be beneficial to avoid building the houses in that first raw /near the plant up to Alta Vista street so that it can get open air and the gas doesn't stay in within the congested house space. You may please inform the new community about the gas leak ahead before they occupy blindly.
Chance for wall to collapse: It came to our attention that the retaining brick wall at the back of Blankenship extended up to south of Rutledge drive is slanted and slowly leaning backward towards west which may get worse or may collapse while new construction comes.
Suggestion: Better grading and keeping a distance for the new houses away from the current walls will be beneficial.
Public access from Park to the new community is a danger: If the Blankenship street opens to the new community, it can cause public access from park to the new community may be unsafe and may open to illegal activities for public from the park, as they are doing now; smoking (where Park has a sign no smoking), sexual activities in public, throwing cigarettes and condoms and other trash to the street and parking areas.
Suggestion/Request: PIs do not open the gate from Park/Blankenship to the new community.
Threat to our Health: When I bought my house in Blankenship, it was not informed from city or by the community that there will be house built in this area anymore. Also, I pay $ 10,000.00 as house tax yearly. I bought this house here for fresh open air to keep good health for my family members, as my husband has asthma and need fresh air, cannot tolerate congested housing community and my daughter has claustrophobia and anxiety without open spaces/areas. My current house has open space for them and has fresh air coming from the seaside, that is from south of my house which will be blocked when new houses coming to the south of my house.
Request and suggestion: Could you please request the builder NOT to build two story houses in the southside, or may do one story houses that side so that we including the current community get fresh and natural air and wind without any blockage.
Kindly consider the above for the comfort of the residents and safety of the community. Thank you.
