Red 88 Media sees every relationship as a partnership, collaborating to achieve a mission and reach higher goals.The importance of transparency in local government continues to grow no matter how large or small the city.
Giving the residents the opportunity to watch gavel to gavel coverage of each City Council Meeting, regular or special, is vital.We have found that to achieve this, it takes an interest in what's being discussed in and around the city, to go beyond just"pushing buttons," and mentally engage in those moments happening in the chamber.
Over the last 20 years, the principle staff has operated municipal meetings in multiple cities, utilizing drastically different technical setups. In Temple City for instance we designed and oversaw the installation of their current council chamber production equipment, while in other cities we used older multi - camera setups which took a level of problem solving at times to even do the most basic coverage. Our ability to adapt to either ongoing issues or to different software comes from our experience and willingness to get the meeting covered no matter what.
Broadcasting these meetings to all the avenues possible to the City is important.The traditional PEG system for sending the video to those who want to watch on aTV is tried and tested.We bring over a decade of experience to PEG broadcast, having acted as General Manager and Technical Director to stations including KGEM-TV in Monrovia. Although in this current climate of technology, even the most tech averse people are searching for other ways to watch a meeting beyond cable. We have implemented a simple interface in Temple City that uses YouTube as a way to reach as many people and devices the way they watch content.

12 Having been on the management team of a progressive Access Channel organization, we bring a unique outlook to the broadcast of Public, Educational, and Government content.The years of experience in this arena allow us to bridge the traditional mindsets together with the contemporary stakeholders in any community. The challenging task of reaching out to a newer generation of viewers whose desires to be educated in community, local government, and the overall "happenings" of their town is a passion that has grown over the time we have spent overseeing PEG systems.
During our years spent operating broadcast systems, our staff has used tape and DVD based systems as well as the server based playout hardware of Leightronix and TelVue, along with being familiar with Tightrope and the newer Cloud based setups. Using these hardware options to schedule a 24hr PBS format Educational channel for over 10 years, while managing Government channels in multiple cities, broadcasting in any form is a strength most companies can't match.
The transition to Red 88 Media allowed for more productions as we set the culture of the new company. We were retained by the Metro Gold Line Construction Authority to continue to be the visual arm of their media campaigns to educate both the communities and industry professionals of the past, present, and future of the Metro Gold Line Light Rail service. Over the years we have interviewed many State and Federal officeholders and managed logistics on shoots as challenging as helicopter flyovers, 3D modeling of new rail stations, and middle of the night B-RoII of construction on a freeway bridge.
We are a team of creative minds who bring different experiences to each issue and scope.
