ACCEPTANCE OF TWO RESIGNATIONS FROM THE STREETSCAPE AND

TRANSPORTATION ADVISORY COMMISSION AND SOLICIT APPLICATIONS FOR

VACANCIES
Financial Impact:

Fiscal Impact:

There is no fiscal impact associated with the recommended action.

Summary:

The Streetscape and Transportation Advisory Commission (STAC) is comprised of five (5) commission members. The City has received letters of resignation from Streetscape and Transportation Advisory Commissioners Arinder Chadha and Meredith Castillo. This action accepts the above indicated resignations and extends the City's sincere appreciation for their service to the community. In addition, this action directs City Staff to solicit applications for the STAC.

Recommendation:

Recommended Action : It is recommended that the City Council:

1. Accept the resignation of Arinder Chadha from the Streetscape and Transportation Advisory Commission effective November 10, 2025; and

2. Accept the resignation of Meredith Castillo from the Streetscape and Transportation Advisory Commission effective November 18, 2025; and

3. Direct Staff to update the City’s master Commission/Committee vacancy list to include two vacancies on the Streetscape and Transportation Advisory Commission and solicit applications.

Strategic Plan Statement:

This item is consistent with the City Council approved Five Year Strategic Plan Goal 4:

Increase Community Engagement, as this action will accept the resignation of two STAC members, and will result in opportunities for other community members to serve on the STAC and become engaged with the community.

This item also furthers Goal 8, to Improve City Governance as the five-member STAC requires full membership to operate optimally, and this action accepts the resignation of two members and recommends the future appointment of two new Commission members, resulting in a full 1 five-member Commission.

Discussion:

The Streetscape and Transportation Advisory Commission (STAC) is comprised of five (5) commission members that act in an advisory capacity to the City Council to study, review, and make recommendations with regard to traffic and transportation matters and the removal, planting, or disposition of public trees in the public right of way or on public property. Due to Mr. Chadha's and Mr. Castillo’s resignations, positions on the STAC are now open and the vacancies need to be filled. In addition, this action also includes a Staff recommendation to update the City's master Commission/Committee vacancy list to include two vacancies on the STAC and solicit applications.

This action formally accepts the resignation of Mr. Chadha and Mr. Castillo from the STAC.

Both Mr. Chadha and Mr. Castillo have served on the STAC since October 2019 and have volunteered their time to the community being part of community projects throughout their time as a Commissioner. The City received email correspondence on November 10, 2025, indicating Mr. Chadha's resignation from the STAC. Written correspondence was received on November 18, 2025, indicating Mr. Castillo’s resignation from the STAC.

Fiscal Impact Summary:

There is no fiscal impact associated with the recommended action.

Hello All,

It was a pleasure working with you all for the past 10 years, but due to my new move to Fullerton I have given up my Placentia address and will not longer be eligible to serve on the committee.

Hence I wish to tender my resignation as of Monday and wish you the best.

Thank you all for your service.

Arinder Chadha MD MBA FACP
