I'm writing each of you on behalf of El Dorado county residents. As ones who particularly enjoy all the fairgrounds offers this community. I ask on behalf of 4-h, grange and the youth that is able to have fun and safety as a sanctuary in the fair grounds facilities.
lask that the armory building not be used in the building project. I stand with other to oppose this grant for housing.
It will jeopardize the safety of the kids who serve this community through youth programs that are are often housed at the fair.
Please take all factors into consideration. And the voice that I stand with that represents thousands who have not yet been informed of your plans but would surely be against this project.
One find somewhere else.
Two this is on tax payers dollars to replace the grant money that you are so willing to spend against the better voice of judgment in this community so please be very very careful how to move forward more wisely with your building ideas. And make full known to the public what you are doing. May it have correct support where needed and represent the voice of the people whose money you are using as your re-establish your voice to the highest regards of honor for our community. https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/?ik=a4109171e3&view=pt&search=all&permmsgid=msg-f%3A1741988965679120427&simpl=msg-f%3A1741988965.. 1/2 8/23/22, 3:47 PM City of Placerville Mail - Fwd: On behalf of EDC FAIRGROUNDS I wish to be in person at your vote but l'il be serving the youth as a coach. Mayor, Vice Mayor, and Esteemed Council Members,
There must be something more to the facts then I have heard related to the low income housing project near the fair grounds. It doesn't make sense to risk losing the use of the fairgrounds in support of housing, that although necessary could impact the one large attraction site Placerville has. Placerville is growing and the current site of the fairgrounds may need to be reviewed in a few years, but to jump into this project, creating a panic for anyone who is willing to listen and consider the placement of the housing and the possible derogatory outcome for both the Speedway and Fair is unconscionable. Why would your office push for this knowing that the Speedway is a great family event when that positive environment is needed so much in today's society. If low income housing comes between this town and their Fair/Speedway it will never be seen as a positive move, but a blight on the area and the end of an Era. Don't let that happen, Michael Tufts

I am writing to you concerning the Low Cost Housing Unit being considered for vote on This unit is too close to the Fairgrounds, especially the race track and would be a parking and noise nuisance to both the new tennants and the fairgrounds itself.
Myself, as well as many other track users see this as a bad idea and could promote poor relations between the two entities.
While 1 believe in Low Cost housing for the community, 1 believe a better location could be chosen.
Respectfully,

Subject: Armory Project
Dear Patty,
I sincerely urge you to vote no and not support the letter of support which would enable Jamboree Housing the opportunity to obtain a grant to construct the low income/affordable housing complex at 212 Armory Road.
This project is in violation of the City's own building codes, the maximum density in this zone is 16 units per acre, this project calls for 27 units per acre.
Have you actually seen this parcel? Do you know how many large oaks will need to be removed? Another question, one that I haven't heard an answer to yet. Where will the tenants park? This 83 unit complex, consisting of 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments has dedicated 96 parking spots. A conservative guess would be 2 vehicles per unit, where will the additional 70 vehicles park? I'm not sure if you have been to the fairgrounds while we have been converted to a fire camp. Every square inch of the property is utilized, and traffic at Armory Road/Ray Lawyer Drive is one way. In fact, have you been down Armory Road lately? Our understanding is the developer is not responsible for any improvements to either road. Armory Road is barely a road.
The Park and Ride addition, as well as the additional asphalt allowed at the car dealerships has caused us great expense in dealing with the excessive water run off. This project is not required to address that issue.
Just more water for us to deal with.

Do they have enough capital and equipment for a project of this size? It doesn't appear to be so.
While | 100% support more low income/affordable housing in our community, surely we can come up with a more suitable parcel?
Again, I urge you to not vote for the letter of support.
Thanks for you time,
Kathy
