Dear Mayor Saragosa and members of the Placerville City Council, I am wriCng to you regarding Item 12.3 on tonight’s agenda. We have known since the redwood tree was damaged that we needed an alternaCve for our Christmas Tree this year, and now we are down to the wire.
Because the Courthouse didn’t work out, a couple other soluCons are being proposed tonight What is being proposed includes: excavaCng a hole in the street, puMng a pipe 6’ deep, and backfilling. All of this for a maQer of only 6 weeks. Why disrupt traffic?
When you look at the renderings of the proposal, you can see in the background a perfect metal shaped tree…the Bell Tower. I know the Bell Tower was discussed before, but the Courthouse sounded like a beQer idea at the Cme.
In light of what is being proposed tonight, decoraCng up the Bell Tower to be a glorious Christmas Tree sounds like a winner to me. And the Christmas Trees along Hwy 50 will shine brighter than ever this year.
