I fully support the motion in Item 12.3 for the Oct. 28 Council Agenda, and request the City Council vote in support of it.
The Affordable Housing Project on Armory Drive bears completion.
The project has been designed to mitigate possible negative effects. Potential positive effects are stupendous. For example, nearby housing for young workers who now must live far outside our community would enhance both the city and county.
I have watched the variety of financially accessible housing in the whole County decline steadily over my decades in Placerville. We need to return balance to affordability of our housing stock.
Please vote for the resolution to apply for the Jamboree Housing Local Government Matching Grant for 212 Armory Drive State Surplus Property Affordable Housing Project.
Thank you.
I regret not being able to attend in person tonight.
