Meeting Date: March 07, 2022
TO: THE HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCILMEMBERS
SUBJECT: ACCEPT UPDATE ON CONTRA COSTA TRANSPORTATION

AUTHORITY AND TRANSPAC

SYNOPSIS
Each month, TRANSPAC meets to provide direction to its staff and make recommendations to the Contra Costa Transportation Authority (CCTA) on significant transportation and land use issues. The attachments to this report include the CCTA Executive summary and Board meeting minutes for December 15, 2021, and the TRANSPAC Board meeting summary minutes for December 9, 2021.

DISCUSSION
Background
TRANSPAC was formed in 1986 to provide the cities of Central Contra Costa County a forum to discuss mutual planning and transportation issues. When Measure C, a countywide transportation proposition, was adopted in 1988, TRANSPAC became the official regional transportation, land use, and housing forum for Central Contra Costa County. The member agencies include Contra Costa County, Clayton, Concord, Martinez, Walnut Creek, and Pleasant Hill.

TRANSPAC meets monthly to discuss transportation-related issues. A Councilmember and a Planning Commissioner represent each jurisdiction. The Chair to the CCTA then submits the actions.

An Executive Summary of the actions taken on December 15, 2021, at the CCTA Board meeting is included along with the meeting minutes. The actions taken at the TRANSPAC Board meeting on December 9, 2021, are also included in the attached minutes.
