Dear Zach,
As discussed, the Pleasant Hill Chamber of Commerce is submitting a proposal to assist city staff with the implementation of the proposed ARPA funding projects.
Project 1: Gift card program
Project 2: Website/Social Media support
Project 2: Wayfinding sign program in downtown
During our Economic Development committee meetings, we all agreed that these projects will require significant outreach efforts. While email, mail, and social media campaigns will be a catalyst, we agree that in-person visits will be necessary.
The Pleasant Hill Chamber of Commerce would like to help in these efforts and is seeking $60,000 in funding to support the above projects. As you know, manpower at the Chamber is currently in short supply, but with financial support, we can provide some of the “legwork” needed to implement successful campaigns.
The fund request above is a one-time ask from the City of Pleasant Hill’s ARPA budget specifically to assist with these projects. Having said this; the Chamber will not be hiring additional staff in 2022 as we continue to regroup from the deficit of losses in revenue from the Art, Wine & Music festival. This means we will rely on the CEO’s efforts to continue to support the membership and the city at-large.
These efforts are in-line with the Chamber’s mission and will help our members with their economic recovery during the pandemic. We hope that you agree and will assist us with this one-time funding request.
Best Regards,
Margaret Manzo
