A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANT HILL APPROVING A $60,000 ONE-TIME GRANT TO THE PLEASANT HILL CHAMBER OF
COMMERCE AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE GRANT
AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, on December 22, 2021, the Pleasant Hill Chamber of Commerce (“Chamber”) submitted a funding request letter (“Letter”) to the City requesting a one-time payment of $60,000 in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds; and
WHEREAS, the Chamber has experienced revenue losses due to the cancellations of the 2020 and 2021 Art, Wine & Music Festivals as a result of COVID-related restrictions on outdoor special events; and
WHEREAS, on February 2, 2022, the City Council Budget Committee reviewed the Letter and recommended that the Chamber receive a one-time $60,000 grant and provide assistance to the City in implementing elements of its Small Business Economic Stimulus Initiative.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Pleasant Hill as follows:
1. The Chamber of Commerce shall receive a one-time $60,000 grant from the City using American Rescue Plan Act funds, and the City Manager is authorized to execute the Grant Agreement.
2. The Chamber shall assist City staff with the implementation of the City’s Small Business Economic Stimulus Initiative.
