PROJECT
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:This program provides for on-going maintenance of the City's 110 miles of roadway pavement. Roadway pavement typically needs to be maintained every 10 years, which means the City would have to rehabilitate approximately 11 miles of streets each year before starting over, to consistently maintain the streets in good condition.Currently the City's Pavement Management Program estimates that an annual allocation of $2.5 million is necessary in order to maintain the City's Pavement Condition Index (PCI) at its current value of 70 points (good overall street condition). Reducing the expenditures of funds below the $2.5 million will increase the City's long term maintenance backlog and reduce the overall PCI and condition of city streets. The currenty level of Deferred Maintenance for the Street Resurfacing Program is $17.6 million. In order to maintain this Deferred Maintenance level, the City would need to invest an average of $3.78 million per year.
