4. REPROGRAM MEASURE J LINE 10 FUNDS TO CENTRAL COUNTY BART NEXT GENERATION FARE GATES PROJECT.

Rob Jaques noted that the Measure J funding of $3.5 million along with $2.7 million in BART/STIP funding will allow for the replacement of existing fare gates with new gates that make it more difficult for users to bypass. Fare gates will be installed at Walnut Creek, Pleasant Hill/Contra Costa Center, and North Concord/Martinez stations.

Matt Todd commented that the TAC expressed support overall for the project but noted that the funding is not at the exact 50/50 target split between BART and TRANSPAC but is within a reasonable margin. The TAC also supported the inclusion of TRANSPAC in Phase 1 of this project.

Commissioner Noack asked if the design is for all the stations or just TRANSPAC. Mr.

Jaques commented that the amount listed is prorated for the TRANSPAC Region.
