CALIFORNIA 2017 Storm Drain Facility & Water Line Improvement Projects Executive Summary
Project Understanding
Below is our understanding of each of the City's projects. While understanding the proposed scopes, challenges and impacts is important, we feel our most important accomplishment will be to lead our consultant team through each aspect of the project design, schedule and budget, while minimizing demands on City staff time and resources. Our approach to successfully achieving this will be accomplished through our Project Approach and proven Work Plan provided in Section 5 of this RFP.
The Oak Park Boulevard and Via Del Sol Storm Drain Improvements project involves providing new inlet(s) and conveyance piping to the existing City storm drain system to eliminate undrained areas near the intersection. Based on the available project budget, there may be additional curb and gutter improvements that can be accomplished with this work. This will be reviewed with the City during the project design phase.
The Diablo View Road Storm Drain Improvements intends to reroute existing storm drain piping and swales from areas within private residential lots where the City has no easements. This new/realigned system will provide for easier access and City maintenance.
The Ruth Drive Storm Drain Rehabilitation will include the rehabilitation or replacement of an existing deteriorated CMP pipe between two residential lots. This project will also be coupled with one of the City's maintenance projects at 1618 Ruth Drive to repair sunken sidewalk which is a tripping hazard. New public storm drain easements will be obtained over private properties.
The Diablo Vista Water System project will replace approximately 2,000 feet of 12" ductile iron pipe that has experienced multiple failures and requires ongoing maintenance. The key element of this project will be the replacement of a portion of the line that lies within two private properties (between public streets) where no City easements currently exist.
