RESOLUTION NO. -22
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANT HILL AUTHORIZING A REQUEST TO THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR THE ALLOCATION OF 2022 SAFE STREETS AND ROADS FOR ALL GRANT
PROGRAM FUNDS
WHEREAS, the Safe Streets and Road for All (SS4A) Grant Program is a U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) federal-aid program created by Section 24112 of the H.R. 3684 Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, also referred to as the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law; and WHEREAS, the USDOT is the agency designated to evaluate, program, and administer SS4A funds; and
WHEREAS, USDOT announced a call-for-project to local agencies including the City of Pleasant Hill inviting them to submit grant proposals to request SS4A funds for the Fiscal Year 2022-2023; and
WHEREAS, the City of Pleasant Hill is eligible to request SS4A funds to prepare a Comprehensive Safety Action Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Comprehensive Safety Action Plan cost is estimated at $200,000, and the required local match is $40,000 which represents 20% of the project cost.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Pleasant Hill that, the City of Pleasant Hill declares it is eligible to request an allocation of SS4A grant funds pursuant to Section 24112 of the H.R. 3684 Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act; and furthermore, be it
RESOLVED, that the City Engineer is authorized to request for SS4A grant funds; and furthermore, be it
RESOLVED, that a certified copy of this resolution and its attachments, and any accompanying supporting materials shall be forwarded to the congestion management agency, countywide transportation planning agency, county association of governments, as the case may be, of Contra Costa County for submission to USDOT.
