PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Construction of the new City library is nearing completion. The new building is located at 2 Monticello Avenue and replaces the former Pleasant Hill library previously located at 1750 Oak Park Boulevard.
This project is funded with a half-cent sales tax measure (Measure K) which was approved by Pleasant Hill residents in November 2016. The Measure K sales tax revenue funds deferred investments in capital assets (e.g. streets and storm drain facilities) and a new City library facility.
The new City library is scheduled to open in July 2022. The annual average maintenance cost of the new facility, for the next five years, including landscaping, utilites, and building support is estimated to be $331,000.
