RESOLUTION NO. -22
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANT HILL AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION OF $75,000 FROM FUND 20 CAPITAL
PROJECT/BUILDING FUND FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE COMMUNITY ROOMS
IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
WHEREAS, the City Hall Building, including the Community Rooms, were originally constructed in 1991 and there have been no significant improvements to the interior of the rooms to date; and
WHEREAS, in June 2020, the City entered into a temporary lease agreement with Contra Costa County, leasing the small Community Room, the large Community Room, the hallway and the restrooms, for use as Temporary Library while the City’s new library was under construction; and
WHEREAS, the new City Library was completed in July 2022 and Contra Costa County has transitioned to the new building; and
WHEREAS, the Community Rooms will benefit from new paint, carpeting, window treatments, furniture and equipment prior to re-opening; and WHEREAS, additional project works includes new paint, window treatments, furniture and equipment for a small conference room on the second floor of the City Hall Building.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Pleasant Hill that an appropriation of $75,000 from Fund 20 Capital Project/Building Fund is authorized for the construction of the Community Rooms Improvement Project.
