RESOLUTION NO. -23
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANT HILL
APPROVING AN EVENT SPONSORSHIP FUNDING REQUEST FROM THE PLEASANT HILL RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT FOR $12,375
WHEREAS, the Pleasant Hill Recreation and Park District (“District”) has organized numerous successful special events over the years; and
WHEREAS, the District’s special events enhance the quality of life for Pleasant Hill residents and also support the local economy by bringing additional people into the area, who may choose to shop and eat at nearby businesses; and
WHEREAS, on April 4, 2022, the City Council approved $10,250 in District event sponsorships for nine events; and
WHEREAS, on January 9, 2023, the District submitted a special event sponsorship request to the City totaling $12,375 for eleven special events in 2023; and WHEREAS, On February 22, 2023, the Budget Committee reviewed the District’s 2023 event sponsorship request and recommended it to the City Council for approval; and WHEREAS, the event sponsorships will be funded by the General Fund Economic Development Department in the Special Event Sponsorships Account; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Pleasant Hill, that the District’s event sponsorship request to the City totaling $12,375 for eleven special events in 2023 is hereby approved.
