PROJECT
MK-3D R1
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

The proposed gap closure project will construct approximately 635-ft of ADAcompliant sidewalk along Oak Park Boulevard and Hook Avenue. The purpose of the new sidewalk is to connect residents to popular nearby destinations including several schools (Pleasant Hill Middle School, Montessori School, and a daycare), Pleasant Oaks Park, Pleasant Hill Library, EBMUD paved asphalt trail, and future athletic fields. The proposed 5-6 ft wide concrete sidewalk will connect existing sidewalk located on the west end of the project limits at the EBMUD Trail, to existing sidewalk located at Hook Avenue (sidewalk already exists at the Aegis Senior Living facility).

Minor drainage and landscape modifications will be required. Existing Class III bike route will be upgraded to Class II bike lane where possible, and will connect to the newly installed Class II bike lane adjacent to the Pleasant Hill Library.

Higher than anticipated Measure K revenues allows for completion of this project.
