RESOLUTION NO. -23
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANT HILL
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A DESIGN PROFESSIONAL
SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH ROBERT NEBOLON ARCHITECTS FOR THE CITY
HALL POND, FOUNTAIN, PLAZA PAVING, AND DONOR MEMORIAL
REHABILITATION PROJECT, AND APPROVE THE COMBINING OF CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS CP-22-2 CITY HALL FOUNTAIN RENOVATION PROJECT AND CP-22-3 CITY HALL POND PLUMBING SYSTEM REPAIRS
WHEREAS, the City has adopted the FY 2022-2027 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP), which includes the City Hall Fountain Renovation Project (Project CP-22-2 in the CIP) and the City Hall Pond Plumbing System Repairs (Project CP-22-3 in the CIP); and WHEREAS, the FY 2022-2027 CIP identifies adequate American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA) funds for the conceptual design portion of the project; and WHEREAS, the City Hall Pond, Fountain, Plaza Paving, and Donor Memorial Rehabilitation Project will provide a design that compliments the architectural features of City Hall, repair and upgrade these facilities, reduce annual maintenance, and extend the service life; and
WHEREAS, the City of Pleasant Hill desires to utilize the professional architectural services of Robert Nebolon Architects to provide schematic designs for the City Hall Pond, Fountain, Plaza Paving, and Donor Memorial Project; and WHEREAS, Robert Nebolon Architects has submitted a proposal to the Community Development Department, which is complete and acceptable.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Pleasant Hill as follows:
1. The City Manager is authorized to execute a design professional services agreement with Robert Nebolon Architects in an amount not to exceed $33,300 with a project contingency of 20% in the amount of $6,700 for a total architectural design cost of $40,000.
2. City staff is authorized to combine the CP-22-2 City Hall Fountain Renovation Project, and the CP-22-3 City Hall Pond Plumbing System Repairs, into one project with a single combined budget total of $870,000.
