A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANT HILL
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE
DESIGN PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH BELLECCI & ASSOCIATES, INC. FOR ENGINEERING DESIGN OF THE CONTRA COSTA BOULEVARD
IMPROVEMENT PROJECT (VIKING DRIVE TO HARRIET DRIVE)
WHEREAS, the City as adopted the FY 2022/2027 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) which includes the Contra Costa Boulevard Improvement Project from Viking Drive to Harriet Drive (Project) (CIP G-26); and
WHEREAS, the Project will construct “complete streets” enhancements along Contra Costa Boulevard between Viking Drive and Harriet Drive; and WHEREAS, the City and Bellecci & Associates, Inc. (Consultant) entered into an Agreement for Design Professional Services (Agreement) for engineering design of the Project on July 19, 2021; and
WHEREAS, the Consultant has submitted a cost proposal to perform additional engineering services to revise the Project plans and specifications and reduce construction costs; and WHEREAS, the engineering services are needed by the City and are in addition to the original Agreement scope; and
WHEREAS, adequate funds are available in the Project fund to support this expenditure.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Pleasant Hill as follows:
1. Authorizes the City Manager to execute the First Amendment to the Design Professional Services Agreement (Exhibit 1) with Bellecci & Associates, Inc., in an amount not to exceed $148,631.61.
2. Authorizes an additional 10 percent in contingency funds, or $14,863.16, for a total not-toexceed change order cost of $163,494.77 at the unit prices set forth in Bellecci & Associates, Inc.,’s proposal for a total not-to-exceed cost of $688,378.77. [Signatures on Following Page]
