LED Sign at City Hall
PURPOSE
To establish a policy for the use of the LED Sign located in front of City Hall, 100 Gregory Lane.
DEFINITIONS
“City sponsored event” means any public event, program or activity in which the City allows the use of its name and/or logo by another sponsoring organization with regards to conduct of the event as well as advertising, promotion or general public awareness. In addition to the use of its name and/or logo, the City may assist by means of personnel, facilities and services in the preparation and conduct of the event.
GENERAL POLICY
The LED Sign in front of City Hall is a non-public forum managed by the City’s Community Relations and Information Technology divisions, under the direction of the City Manager. The City has sole authority on what information is displayed on the LED sign.
Use of the LED sign will be limited to promoting the following:
• City of Pleasant Hill meetings, programs and events
• Emergency Alerts
• Events and programs sponsored by government agencies serving Pleasant Hill • Communitywide events and programs sponsored by the City of Pleasant Hill No promotions for any individual business or group of businesses or any type of commercial activity shall be permitted.
Event slides may not contain sponsor logos.
PROCEDURE
2 Messages will generally be scheduled to run for up to two weeks prior to the identified program date; however, longer and short runs may be implemented if it is in the best interest of the City to alter the schedule.
In the event of an emergency, the City may remove all other messages and limit use of the LED Sign for emergency information.
The LED Sign content and management will be handled by staff from the Community Relations division and the Information Technology Division.
