SUBJECT: ADOPT RESOLUTION NO.___-24 APPROVING THE FISCAL YEARS 2024/2029 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PLAN AND EXPENDITURES FOR FISCAL YEAR 2024/2025 AND FISCAL YEAR 2025/2026
SYNOPSIS
Staff has prepared the Draft Fiscal Years (FY) 2024/2029 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) and Expenditures for FY 2024/2025 and FY 2025/2026. On June 5, 2024, the Budget Committee reviewed the proposed CIP and recommended that the City Council approve the FY 2024/2029 CIP, and CIP Expenditures for FY 2024/2025 and FY 2025/2026.
DISCUSSION
Background
Every two years, the City Council adopts a budget that matches the services desired by the community with the financial resources required to provide those services. The City Council also adopts a CIP that appropriates funds to priority capital projects.
The Planning Commission reviewed an overview of the Draft FY 2024/2029 CIP at its May 28, 2024 meeting, and adopted Resolution No. 10-24 that found the proposed CIP projects consistent with the General Plan.
At the June 5, 2024 Budget Committee meeting, the Committee reviewed the Draft FY 2024/2029 Capital Improvement Plan and Expenditures for FY 2024/2025 and FY 2025/2026, and recommended that staff present this document to the City Council with its recommendation to adopt.

RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION
Adopt the proposed resolution to approve Draft FY 2024/20209 Capital Improvement Plan and Expenditures for FY 2024/2025 and FY 2025/2026.
ALTERNATIVES TO RECOMMENDED ACTION
Do not adopt a resolution to approve Draft FY 2024/20209 Capital Improvement Plan and Expenditures for FY 2024/2025 and FY 2025/2026 and provide direction to staff.
