Re. Police Dept. fueling system replacement COR detail
Dear Ann James:

Thank you for your inquiry re. the scope of work transition from UST removal to UST ‘closure in-place’ on the City of Pleasant Hill Police Dept. fuel system replacement project (Project).

We have prepared the following table detailing the original scope of work tasks which were completed associated with the UST removal, and any correlating financial offsets. Per below, the standby offsets were considered in the development of the change order request, effectively ‘crediting’ those costs against the minor remaining UST removal tasks.

SUMMARY
Costs associated with ‘Standby’ or ‘Delay” time awaiting regulatory approval for the closure in-place effectively offset minor remaining original scope of work tasks and associated costs. The existing UST was ~65% ready for disposal at the time of water line proximity observation. All work was placed on standby pending resolution.

These ‘net’ costs were calculated into the COR budget report presented on 8/30/24. (Similarly, only the ‘net’ costs for the piping run for the new UST were presented in the 8/30/24 report) Please see detail below).

All other costs presented represent additional work related to out-of-scope tasks:
 Dewatering
 Soils management
 Contamination evaluation
 Restoration
As of 9/16/24 we do not anticipate any further out-of-scope tasks or costs.
