DISCUSSION
Background
On December 16, 2024, the City Council elected a new Mayor and Vice Mayor. In the past, an amended resolution was needed to incorporate the names of the newly elected Mayor and Vice Mayor, as well as any staff changes as authorized signors. In January 2023, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 01-23, which authorizes staff to amend the check signors with the Bank of Montreal (BMO) based on the position within the City and no longer needed to be amended for elections or staff turnover. Since the last update in 2023, the City Manager has reorganized staff positions to be more responsive to the needs of the City. Therefore, some of the authorized staff positions have been amended or currently made unavailable and need to be updated. The proposed changes below will reflect the authorized positions to draw or sign City checks upon City funds for payment of legal demands against the City and execute signature cards at the local depository:
Proposed Revision:
1. Mayor
2. Vice Mayor
3. City Manager
4. Chief Financial Officer/City Treasurer
