Below I have written out our reason for leaving the roof line the same.
Is this what you were asking for:
We are requesting to be able to leave the existing roof structure on our carport in its current form which exceeds our lot coverage requirement for the following reasons:
In order to allow the driver of the handicap van to also be covered and out of the elements.
Due to the angle of our lot and the size of the van and its ramps, we need an xtra wide space.
