TITLE: ACCEPT UPDATE ON CONTRA COSTA COUNTY

TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY AND TRANSPAC

SYNOPSIS
TRANSPAC meets to provide direction to its staff and make recommendations to the Contra Costa Transportation Authority (CCTA) on significant transportation and land use issues.

DISCUSSION
Background
TRANSPAC was formed in 1986 to provide the cities of Central Contra Costa County a forum to discuss mutual planning and transportation issues. When Measure C, a countywide transportation proposition, was adopted in 1988, TRANSPAC became the official regional transportation, land use, and housing forum for Central Contra Costa County. The member agencies include Contra Costa County, Clayton, Concord, Martinez, Walnut Creek, and Pleasant Hill.

TRANSPAC meets to discuss transportation-related issues. A Councilmember and a Planning Commissioner represent each jurisdiction. The Chair of the CCTA then submits the actions.
