A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANT HILL ACCEPTING THE 2025 CITY HALL FIRST FLOOR OFFICES AND POLICE DEPARTMENT DISPATCH CARPET REPLACEMENT PROJECT NO. 05-25 AS
COMPLETE AND AUTHORIZING THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR TO ISSUE AND
RECORD A NOTICE OF COMPLETION
WHEREAS, the City Hall Carpet Replacement Project (First Floor Offices) was an approved project in the FY2024-2029 Capital Improvement Program (CIP); and WHEREAS, the City Hall Building was constructed in 1991 and has had no significant improvements to the interior of the first-floor offices since then; and WHEREAS, the Police Department Dispatch Center was last renovated in 2010 and the carpet needed replacing; and
WHERAS, to save resources and receive economy of scale pricing, staff combined the City Hall Carpet Replacement Project (First Floor Offices) and the Police Department Dispatch Center Carpet Replacement Project into one project: the City Hall First Floor Offices and PD Dispatch Carpet Replacement Project 05-25; and
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 42-25, the City Council approved an additional appropriation of $81,950 from Fund 308 Capital Project/Building Fund for a combined budget of $161,950 for construction of the project.
WHEREAS, The City Hall First Floor Offices and PD Dispatch Carpet Replacement Project No. 05-25 provided for the removal and replacement of the existing carpet and wall base in the first-floor offices at the City Hall Building and the Dispatch Center at the Police Department Facility; and
WHEREAS, on October 17, 2025, the City Manager, pursuant to both City Council in Resolution No. 43-24 (Capital Improvement Plan 2024-2029) and Ordinance No. 770 (Bidding on Public Projects), executed a construction contract with PIK Construction, Inc., to perform work described in contract documents entitled 2025 City Hall First Floor Offices and Police Department (PD) Dispatch Carpet Replacement Project No. 05-25; and WHEREAS, the work has been performed to the satisfaction of the City, and PIK Construction, Inc., is requesting final payment for the completed work; and WHEREAS, the California Public Contract Code requires the City to notify the public of acceptance of a project prior to making a final payment.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Pleasant Hill that the work performed as 2025 City Hall First Floor Offices and Police Department (PD) Dispatch Carpet Replacement Project No. 05-25 is complete to the satisfaction of the City and is hereby accepted as complete.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Public Works Director is authorized to execute a Notice of Completion and record it with the Office of the Recorder of the County of Contra Costa, State of California, within ten (10) days from the date thereof.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the remaining project funds in the amount of $51,343.74 be unencumbered in Fund 308, Capital Building Project Fund.
