EXHIBIT A
The Political Reform Act (California Government Code § 81000, et seq.) requires state and local public agencies to adopt and promulgate conflict of interest codes. The Fair Political Practices Commission (the “FPPC”) has, in accordance with the authority vested in it, issued Regulation 18730 (‘Provisions of Conflict of Interest Codes,’ found at 2 Cal. Code of Regs. § 18730), setting forth the terms of a mandatory conflict of interest code. This Regulation 18730 can be incorporated by reference and may be amended by the FPPC after public notice and hearings to conform to any amendments made to the Political Reform Act. The City of Pleasant Hill, through adoption of Resolution ___-26, adopts and incorporates by reference 2 Cal. Code of Regs. § 18730 et seq., and any amendments that may be made to it by the FPPC, along with Appendices A, B, and C attached hereto. Collectively, these documents shall constitute the Conflict of Interest Code of the City of Pleasant Hill.
In accordance with the procedures described in Regulation 18730, each holder of a designated position shall file a statement of economic interest (Form 700) with the City Clerk, who will make the statements available for public inspection and reproduction pursuant to Government Code § 81008. In accordance with Government Code § 87200, members of the City Council, the City Treasurer, members of the Planning Commission, the City Manager, and City Attorney shall file Form 700 statements of economic interest. The City Clerk shall make and retain copies of these Form 700 statements and forward the originals to the FPPC. Statements for all other designated positions shall be retained by the City Clerk.
