A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANT HILL
ACCEPTING THE CONTRA COSTA BOULEVARD IMPROVEMENT PROJECT (VIKING DRIVE TO HARRIET DRIVE) PROJECT NO. 02-23 AS COMPLETE AND AUTHORIZING
THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR TO ISSUE AND RECORD A NOTICE OF
COMPLETION, AND AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO INCREASE THE CONTRACT WITH PARK ENGINEERING INC. FOR CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT SERVICES BY $77,954.44
WHEREAS, the Contra Costa Boulevard Improvement Project (Viking Drive to Harriet Drive) Project No. 02-23 provides modifications to the traffic signals and intersection geometry at Contra Costa Boulevard (CCB) and Taylor Boulevard, a new traffic signal at CCB and Alan Drive, ADA upgrades, traffic striping modifications, bicycle lanes, median re-configuration, LED street lighting, and drought-tolerant landscaping; and
WHEREAS, on April 15, 2024, the City Council awarded a contract to Redgwick Construction Company to perform work described in the contract documents entitled Contra Costa Boulevard Improvement Project (Viking Drive to Harriet Drive) Project No. 02-23; and WHEREAS, the work has been performed to the satisfaction of the City, and Redgwick Construction Company is requesting final payment for the completed work; and WHEREAS, the California Public Contract Code requires the City to notify the public of acceptance of a project prior to making a final payment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Pleasant Hill finds that the work performed as Contra Costa Boulevard Improvement Project (Viking Drive to Harriet Drive) Project No. 02-23 is complete to the satisfaction of the City.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Pleasant Hill orders that all project streets identified within the project documents are subject to a five-year street pavement moratorium effective the date of this Resolution; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Pleasant Hill authorizes the City Manager to execute a contract increase from available project funds for Construction Management Services in the amount of $77,954.44 with Park Engineering, Inc. for the Contra Costa Boulevard Improvement Project (Viking Drive to Harriet Drive) Project No. 02-23; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Public Works Director is authorized to execute a Notice of Completion and record it with the Office of the Recorder of the County of Contra Costa, State of California, within ten (10) days from the date thereof. [Signatures on the Following Page]
