RESOLUTION NO. -26
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANT HILL APPROVING A 2026 EVENT SPONSORSHIP FUNDING REQUEST FROM THE PLEASANT HILL RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT FOR $14,850
TO SUPPORT NINE DISTRICT EVENTS IN CALENDAR YEAR 2026
WHEREAS, the Pleasant Hill Recreation and Park District (“District”) has organized numerous successful events over the years; and
WHEREAS, the District’s events enhance the quality of life for Pleasant Hill residents and support the local economy by bringing additional people into the area, who may choose to shop and eat at nearby businesses; and
WHEREAS, on April 4, 2022, the City Council approved $10,250 in District event sponsorships for nine events; and
WHEREAS, on March 6, 2023, the City Council approved $12,375 in District event sponsorships for 11 events; and
WHEREAS, on February 5, 2024, the City Council approved $12,375 in District event sponsorships for 11 events; and
WHEREAS, on March 17, 2025, the City Council approved $14,850 in District event sponsorships for 11 events; and
WHEREAS, on February 17, 2026, the District submitted an event sponsorship request to the City totaling $14,850 for nine events in 2026; and WHEREAS, on March 11, 2026, the City Council Budget Committee reviewed the District’s request and recommended City Council approval; and WHEREAS, the event sponsorships will be funded by the General Fund Economic Development Division;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Pleasant Hill that the District’s event sponsorship request to the City totaling $14,850 for nine special events in 2026 is hereby approved and incorporate the July through December 2026 events into the next Biennial Budget.
