RESOLUTION NO. __-26
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANT HILL,
ADOPTING A REVISED SCHEDULE OF PENALTIES
FOR PARKING VIOLATIONS
WHEREAS, California Vehicle Code section 40203.5 requires the City Council to adopt a schedule of parking penalties for parking violations (parking citation penalty schedule); and
WHEREAS, parking citations serve as a vital mechanism for ensuring adherence to laws and ordinances governing parking, vehicle mechanics, and registration. Such compliance enhances traffic safety, improves accessibility, and supports the maintenance of clean and orderly roadways throughout the community; and WHEREAS, the parking citation penalty schedule was last revised in 2006, and based on a review of the citation schedules at other neighboring jurisdictions, including Walnut Creek, Concord, and Martinez, and considering the increase in the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers since 2006, the City Council desires to revise the penalty schedule; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Pleasant Hill does hereby adopt the revised Pleasant Hill Parking Citation Penalty Schedule, attached hereto as Exhibit “A” and incorporated by reference, effective July 1, 2026.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Pleasant Hill at a regular meeting held on the 15th day of June, 2026, by the following vote:
