RESOLUTION NO. -26
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANT HILL,
DECLARING THE COSTS OF ABATEMENT TO BE A SPECIAL ASSESSMENT LIEN ON
THE PROPERTY AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO FORWARD THE
ASSESSMENT TO THE CONTRA COSTA COUNTY TAX ASSESSOR/COLLECTOR FOR
PLACEMENT OF THE ASSESSMENT ON THE TAX ROLLS FOR THE PROPERTY AT 319 GLORIA DRIVE
WHEREAS, the City received multiple complaints of overgrown weeds at 319 Gloria Drive (APN: 150-021-002); and
WHEREAS, after noncompliance with the abatement of weeds, the City Council held a hearing on August 4, 2025, where the property was declared a public nuisance and an order of abatement was made; and
WHEREAS, the property owner was notified of the order to abate and failed to remove the weeds; and
WHEREAS, the City hired 5 Star Tree and Landscape LLC to abate the weeds and on October 25, 2025, the work was completed to abate the weeds; and WHEREAS, the City provided the costs to the property owner, requesting reimbursement, and no payment was made to the City; and
WHEREAS, the City has now scheduled a hearing with the City Council, with proper and timely notice of this meeting has been provided as prescribed in Chapter 7.45 of the Pleasant Hill Municipal Code.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Pleasant Hill that, the cost of abatement of the weeds is hereby made a special assessment lien on the property and the City Manager is authorized to submit the cost of abatement at 319 Gloria Drive to the Contra Costa Tax Assessor/Collector.
