JOINT SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES
Thursday, April 20, 2023
1. Call to Order and Pledge of Allegiance
Board President Steve Maher called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. from the Pleasanton Unified School District Board Room located at 4665 Bernal Avenue and provided opening remarks noting that Mayor Karla Brown will chair the meeting.
Board President Steve Maher led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Pleasanton Unified School District Trustees: Justin Brown, Mary Jo Carreon, Kelly Mokashi, Laurie Walker, Annabelle Kim, Board President Steve Maher
3. Public Comment regarding items not listed on the agenda Mayor Brown opened public comment. There being no speakers, Mayor Brown closed public comment.
4. Presentation regarding Youth in Government Day 2023 ( City/ PUSD) Lia Bushong introduced Zaynah Shah, chair of Youth Commission, to provide presentation.

5. Presentation on student safety and behavioral support efforts a. Student School Site Safety ( PUSD)
b. Student Supports for addressing behavioral concerns ( PUSD/ City) Ed Diolazo, Deputy Superintendent, and Lia Bushong, Assistant Director of Library and Recreation, presented item 5a.
Leslie Heller, Director of Student Services, presented item 5b.

Chair Brown recessed the meeting at 8:34 p.m. and reconvened the meeting at 8:42 p.m. d. Update on Crossing Guard locations and future request Mike Tassano, Deputy Director of Community Development, presented item 5d.

6. Presentation regarding growth and development
a. Overview of upcoming projects funded by bond Measure I (PUSD) Ahmad Sheikholeslami, Assistant Superintendent, presented item 6a.
