TITLE
Veterans Building Planning Survey
RECOMMENDED ACTION
1) Receive Report on the Vets Hall Renovation and Needed Studies 2) Direct Staff
ANALYSIS
As part of the “Vets Hall/Community Center Feasibility Study” several studies are required to fulfill grant requirements and complete a fully designed and permitted project.
Staff is ready to schedule certain site studies that will be needed regardless of the size/scope of the final renovation project design. Those studies are for hazardous materials, geologic conditions and a survey of the property. CDBG Funding requires special work around the historical status of any site. Other studies that may need to be started will have to do with requirements of a future CDP for the construction of the project.
Eventually a determination of the level of study that needs to be done within the procedural boundaries of the U.S. National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). That study will be affected by the final size/scope of the project design.
Staff will share more detailed information and answer questions at the meeting.
FISCAL IMPACT
Studies are funded through the CDBG Technical Assistance and Planning Grant from HCD.
