I CALL TO ORDER & ROLL CALL
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Burkey at 6:00pm.
Present: Mayor Burkey, Vice Mayor Dobbins, Councilmembers Jim Koogle, Jeff Hansen and Dan Doyle.

III APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA
A Closed Session item was added to the agenda. Motion to approve agenda by Councilmember Koogle, Seconded by Vice Mayor Dobbins. Motion passed unanimously.
IV MAYOR’S REPORTS/ANNOUNCEMENTS
A) Mendocino County Sheriff Update – Sheriff Kendall and Lt. JD Comer provided an update on law enforcement activities in Point Arena.
B) Fire Safe Point Arena Update – Jennifer Smallwood discussed recent efforts to obtain a container box for disaster supplies and uuse the high school gym as an emergency sherlter.

A) City-Related Meetings
Mayor Burkey provided an update on Independence Weekend.
B) Council Committee and Commission Reports
Councilmember Hansen attended the recent MCOG meeting and provided an update.
VI PRIVILEGE OF THE FLOOR (Public Comment Period)
Jennifer Smallwood addressed the Council about the condition of the downtown park.

VIII PRESENTATION
A) Proposal for Mural at Downtown Plaza/City Restrooms -- The presentation was continued to the July 25, 2023 meeting.
IX HOUSING STUDY SESSION
A) Housing Policy Updates to the General Plan/Local Coastal Program - Linda Ruffing of North Coast Community Planning provided an update on the Local Coastal Program update process. Discussions with the Coastal Commission have been positive. An ordinance regulating Accessory Dwelling Units will be introduced at the July 25 meeting.
Council provided direction on remaining issues including densities in the HighwayCommercial Zone.
